Webinar series: What is Porosity?

Porosity is a phenomenon that occurs in materials, especially castings, as they change state from liquid to solid during the manufacturing process. It has the form of surface and core imperfections which either affects the surface finish or as a leak path for gases and liquids.

Porosity is found in cast components, in components manufactured from powdered metal and in electronic component assemblies.

Download and watch this series of webinars from the North American Diecasting Association (NADCA) to find out more about the causes of porosity and how to reduce the occurrence of porosity in castings.
