Front Loading System Model
Impregnation offers a solution to the problem of porosity in die cast components. Front loading equipment was developed by Ultraseal because of the market requirement to impregnate fully machined castings offering a high level of part cleanliness with the added benefits of a neat, modern and compact system design.
A range of workload handling options are available from semi-automatic, requiring an operator to move the workload between modules, to full automation using a robot to transfer the workload.
Rotational Vacuum Impregnation/ Drain Module
Air is evacuated from the porosity within the components. While under vacuum, liquid sealant enters the Autoclave, when the vacuum is released, the porosity is filled with sealant. The workload is then rotated and indexed to drain excess sealant.

Rotational Cold Wash/ Drain Module
The workload is rotated under a cascade of wash water solution. The workload is then rotated and indexed to drain excess wash water.

Rotational Hot Cure Module
The workload is rotated under a cascade of hot water and a flood is used to fill the chamber to allow rapid heat transfer, to cure the thermally reactive sealant in the impregnated components. The workload is then rotated and indexed to drain excess water.

Sealant Recycling System (SRS)
The SRS is connected to the cold wash module to allow the recycling of sealant from the wash water. This effectively creates a ‘closed loop’ allowing both the washing water and sealant to be reused offering both environmental and commercial benefits.

Cascade Washing
The solution is pumped from the dedicated store tank to a manifold in the top of the processing chamber. This provides a high level of cleanliness and effective removal of sealant/solution from the external surfaces of the impregnated components.

Rotation /Index Draining
The workload is rotated while subject to the cascade wash to ensure an even distribution of washing. The subsequent rotation drain minimises carry over of solution into the next process.

Filtration
The filtration system allows solutions to be continually filtered, reducing the need to empty and refill tanks, saving valuable system down time.
