Ultraseal International Brings Augmented Reality to EUROGUSS 2022

Ultraseal International, the global leader in porosity sealing will be showcasing a full suite of casting impregnation solutions at this year’s EUROGUSS 2022, demonstrating how industry can achieve gains in quality, efficiency, and sustainability.

Taking place in Nuremberg, Germany, from 8-10 June, the international trade show brings together experts from the die casting industry. Ultraseal, a Quaker Houghton company, is demonstrating at EUROGUSS how vacuum impregnation is critical to driving the industry forward.

Combined with the post casting treatment and impregnation service capabilities of Group companies Maldaner GmbH and Sterr & Eder GmbH, Quaker Houghton provides a complete, intelligent solution for die casting from start-to-finish. Visitors to Quaker Houghton’s stand, Booth 628 in Hall 7 will have access to Ultraseal’s experts who will be on hand to discuss customised solutions to casting impregnation and post casting treatment challenges.

Ultraseal will also have on stand an Augmented Reality (AR) model of a front load impregnation machine. Visitors will be able to see how Ultraseal use this, and similar technology, to support customers for a variety of purposes that have been hugely beneficial during the recent Pandemic. For example, remote acceptance testing, maintenance, service and repair using Microsoft’s HoloLens 2.

John Holmes, Application Sales Director at Ultraseal International, comments: “Ultraseal has been at the forefront of innovation for over 50 years and has developed a range of market-leading impregnation sealants, equipment and services including a global service centre network to help address these challenges, all of which will be on display at EUROGUSS. We’re thrilled to be able to introduce to visitors how we’re continuing to innovate with the adoption of AR as part of our commitment to digitalisation and Industry 4.0.”

In addition to a market-leading range of conventional impregnation sealants, Ultraseal offers the option of high-performance recycling sealants and recycling systems (which can be supplied with new impregnation systems or retro-fitted to existing vacuum impregnation equipment) which minimise environmental impact while also reducing sealant usage by up to 95%. Ultraseal’s pioneering closed loop sealant recycling system drives efficiencies and virtually eliminates wastewater from the impregnation process – a vital consideration for manufacturers today.

Offering an insight into best practice and future trends, Ultraseal’s experts will also be on hand to offer individual advice for different applications. Holmes adds: “While porosity is a universal challenge, everyone’s needs are different – from high volume requirements through to occasional demand. Ultraseal is at the forefront of global industry developments and as such, we have an unrivalled ability to deliver improved quality, productivity and environmental performance in casting impregnation, whatever the requirement.”
